Ogley Typeface
For the Summer of 2012, I attended the Condensed Program as part of Type@Copper at the Cooper Union in New York City. An intensive full-time certificate course of lettering, history and theory taught under Sumner Stone, Hannes F. Famira and Just Van Rossum.
The final aspect of the program required designing and producing a complete typeface from scratch - working initially with ink and pen and then finalising the design on computer and screen. The result was Ogley. Ogley is a grotesk/grotesque sans-serif. Ogley is visually unique and playfully weird in its form. In its creation, I explored abnormal details and enlarged ink traps. Ogley is intended for display or headings and currently exists in two weights; Light and Black.
